Grandkids Christmas Party

For the last three years we have had a Christmas party for our grandchildren.
The idea is to let the parents go out for the night and let us have fun with the kids.
This year we started with a trip to McDonald's and then we decorated gingerbread houses.
Then we watched Horton Hears a Who. The kids weren't too interested in the movie but they had a great time running wild while the movie was on.

Jace and Zack watching just how to do it.

Joslynn had more fun eating the candy. Do you see the glint in her eye? That's our Joslynn!

Grandpa gets in and helps.
I think Zack enjoyed the night.

Jared had a fun time too!

The little ones ate while the older kids designed.

Tree Decorating

Cameron, Kaylie and Abby did the honors of decorating our tree on Thanksgiving day weekend.

Then Rob and Abby did their traditional Christmas waltz.

Well okay, maybe it will be a tradition but they're sure cute together.

And of course we can't forget the annual Watkins Christmas family rock concert
featuring Rob on vocals, Gerrick on drums, Randon on guitar and Abby on keyboard and dancing.
(Sorry couldn't get the sound to work but it's still fun to watch)

Randon - Happy Birthday to You!

These kids keep getting OLDER!!
I'm so glad that I'm not.
Last Sunday on November 16th we celebrated Randon's birthday.
I think he had a good birthday week. His actual birthday he spent the day putting up Christmas lights for us but to make up for that on Wednesday he went to see Carrie Underwood - 9th Row, and then Thursday at midnight he saw Twilight.
We love you Rand!
We hope the next year brings you everything that is good.

ODE TO JOYE

Joye Sunday mornings aren't the same without you!!!

Randon and I are actually having to do the girls hair!
Last week was a disaster!

This week got a little better BUT
I don't think I ever told you how much
I really really really appreciated you!

Can we get you back?
Now we only have the memories. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
From, Mom, Randon, Abby and Joslynn

BIGGEST LOSER

So I'm sad to say I'm addicted to the TV show the BIGGEST LOSER. It's sad but true. Last night was the first time I had to watch it alone. (Because certain people - Joye - abandoned me). I knew it was bad last night when I was literally shaking because I was so mad at Vicky and Brady, what brats! Anyway, I thought it was great that Brady got sent home. Go Amy!! I've thought that now that I know it is an addiction maybe I should stop watching, NOT!!! I will watch the BIGGEST LOSER every week with my fattening snack in hand. I may have a nervous breakdown this season watching it but I will endure!!!!

Family Party

So I'm backtracking a little bit.
We had a family party last Sunday, October 26
We celebrated Gerrick's B-day and did our annual pumpkin carving extravaganza.
To tell you the truth, I don't carve pumpkins.
But Rob loves it and I love it as long as I don't have to scrape out the pumpkin guts or do any carving.
I love watching everybody and now we are having the next generation of Watkins join in and it's just fun.

This year we had a house full because Gerrick and Cameron invited friends and then we had Kelsey come with her friend Craig.
We were so excited that everyone could be home with us. Some didn't know the rule that all, except mom, must carve. (I take pictures.) But it was still great fun.

Kelsey was way excited to see Gerrick

Rob and Kelsey - The daughter he never had.

We love you Kelsey!!!

Megan and Gerrick

Cameron brought Kaylie and Shauna with him from Rexburg

??????
Abby was way excited to carve.
She showed Randon how to do it.

We're going to have to watch her with knives
We didn't think Rand carved this year, but we now have proof.

Justin hasn't always been a pumpkin carver but I think he's starting to get into it. He did a Homer Simpson pumpkin this year. My very most favorite pumpkin he ever did was when he had a skelton with a fly rod fishing.

Tiffany joined in too.

Jace's Masterpiece
Zack wandered around the room making sure everything was okay.
The end result.

Jared loved the party.
We were sooooo glad to have Micah and Joye and fam with us again.
Micah had started to go apostate on us a little bit in Maryland and would carve jack-o-lanterns without patterns, you know, just using triangles, etc.
I think we got him back in time and got him some intervention.
Well, maybe he needs a little more work.
Matt loved it.
We even found Joye doing one at the end.
Note: Joslynn was there too but somehow she escaped pictures.
Okay, so I didn't put any pictures of Rob carving but he did. And guess what right now it's 6:30 p.m. on Halloween Night and do you know what Rob is doing all by himself in the kitchen - you got it -
CARVING PUMPKINS!!!!!!
The ones we did do on Sunday kind of died so he's trying to get more out there to show.
STAY TUNED.
